To reach Xunantunich, you’ll experience a charming adventure by crossing the river on a hand-operated cable ferry, immersing yourself in the local culture. As you explore, you will find a classic period ceremonial center (300-900 AD), featuring extensive plazas surrounded by majestic pyramids. The site is composed of six major plazas and more than 25 temples and palaces, each telling a story of a rich history.
Finally, don’t miss the exhilarating 130-foot ascent to “El Castillo,” the main pyramid.
